Today for lunch, we decided to dive into the rich flavors of Cajun cuisine at Voodoo Brothers in Old Town Manassas. Known for bringing a taste of New Orleans to Virginia, Voodoo Brothers promised a feast of bold and spicy dishes.
We started our meal with a selection of their signature dishes: Jim’s Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice, Chicken & Andouille Gumbo, and Spicy Chicken Wings. To complement our meal, we ordered a classic Hurricane and a Jack on the Rocks.
The standout dish of the day was undoubtedly the Chicken & Andouille Gumbo. This dish was everything a gumbo should be—rich, hearty, and full of deep, savory flavors. It had just the right amount of spice, and the combination of chicken and andouille sausage was a true delight.
As for the Hurricane, it was the perfect drink to accompany our meal. Made with all fresh fruit juice, this cocktail was a great mix of boozy and refreshing, bringing a bit of that New Orleans vibe to our table.
The other dishes we tried—Jim’s Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice, and Garlic Chili Shrimp—were all close to hitting the mark. They each had moments of greatness but seemed to be missing just a touch of the boldness and depth of flavor that we were expecting. Perhaps it was just our taste buds on this particular day, so we encourage you to give them a try and see for yourself!
Overall, Voodoo Brothers offers a solid take on Cajun cuisine, and we look forward to returning to try more of their menu. If you’re in Old Town Manassas and craving some Cajun comfort food, Voodoo Brothers is definitely worth a visit.
